KIS 7 325 (but it's happened with previous versions) Is it possible to stop KIS adding into reports about password protected files? Or at least these two programs in particular.
It's not the end of the world but it is a nuissance that when I look in the General 'Events' Report, Manual Scan Reports or My Computer Scan Report these same 20 or so entries are always there. Has I guess KIS scans the same files quite regularly the same entries appear again and again.
KIS is convinced the two Setup EXEs for Real Alternative and K-Lite Codec Pack have password protection inside them. They may have I don't know but I do know when I install them no password needs to be given. It seems to be that KIS is either giving a false positive or KIS doesn't like the way the Setup EXEs have been constructed. I've tried adding both EXEs to as an Exclusion Mask but they still get added into Reports. I've had to turn off KIS' Notification for Password Protected files. It's particularly annoying for My Computer scans as it fills the report up with information I really don't need to know about.
Here is what the report looks like, click on the picture to enlarge it: Thanks. Thanks Lapin. I mean inside KAV/KIS' report function.
The last notification called Log (Event would be a better name) logs entries inside the Windows Event Viewer. * Control Panel * Administrative Tools * Event Viewer You may also see an 'Administrative Tools' folder on the Start Menu Or: * Right click on My Computer * Manage * Event Viewer The Event Viewer is where Windows logs virtually everything it's doing and everything most other applications are doing too. It can useful for troubleshooting. In Vista it's been greatly expanded. The last way is the way I hope it. In the case of KIS the only two uses I can think of is to enable Logging is so all logs are shown in the same place. In a Network environment you can also view a Remote Computers Event Log.
As I can view KIS reports directly anyway I've not enabled it. I hope that helps. Thanks Lapin. I mean inside KAV/KIS' report function.
